Design Process

This design is inspired by fabrics and notebook covers. I took some parts of them and connected them like a puzzle. The triangle and diamond shapes were attractive to me. The final pattern is mostly geometric shapes and leaf shapes. I tried to combine geometric and leaf shapes, then found out that making the leaf shapes more geometrically and placing them beside each other has the most visual harmony. And I used eight colors to make it vivid and joyful.

These were the parts I drew down from the photos. I was unsure which pattern would be the best design, so I combined them in various ways.

REVERSE ENGINEERED OBJECT: HD Renders and Exploded View

 Final Piece The assignment is reverse engineered object. Measuring the items in 0.1 mm by a caliper. Then use Rhino to create the 3D object of my chosen items, compass and its case. This blog is my presentation of 3D compass and its case in rendered images. They looks really good. This is my compass in separated.  This is assembled compass.
